The time between my posts seems to get longer and longer, but I’ve got a new game (actually an app) to talk about today, and I’m really interested in seeing how it does. The app is called Pixel Animator 3d, and its a voxel animation suite that you should totally buy.
Here are a few videos I’ve made using it so far. I’ve got a few others that I’ll be putting up in the next few days (hopefully) as well as perhaps some tutorial videos. The engine is also being used for my latest game, but that’s still in early stages so I’m not yet ready to talk about it.
WOAH there! Apparently I was on G4TV again, with not just one, but TWO of my games. Gotta give a big shout out to Attack of the Show for all the love they’ve given my games, even if the main reason they get on is due to their ridiculousness. Check out the clip below
So if you haven’t seen it yet, the first game was Baby Maker Extreme 2, but the second I haven’t talked about yet. ‘Can You Handle 2 at Once?‘ came out recently on the XBox Indies marketplace and has been catching many eyes with its…. let’s say interesting box art. The gameplay isn’t a perfect mesh with the box, but I found it a fun gameplay experiment, and I actually want to do more games with the girls of the box art later on.
Hey all, its been a long time since I last posted, but I’m really excited today, because I just released the sequel to Baby Maker Extreme! There’s lots of new stuff to see and explore. I tried to keep the general feel and control of the game, but add in new features for fans. The game has a brand new graphics engine, and a whole bunch of new places to explore (and items to crash into), as well as new ways to control your baby with unlockable “super power” babies. I’m really excited for this, so I hope you take the time to check it out on the marketplace. I’d love to see Baby Maker Extreme 2 succeed as well as the original (which just yesterday was revealed as the top XBox Indie Game of 2010)
So far I’ve tried to avoid posting “spoilers” of BMX on my blog, but you know what? The game has been out over 3 months now and if you haven’t tried it yet, then I don’t even know why you visit this blog.
Anyway, yesterday Baby Maker Extreme was featured on G4′s Attack of the Show! And even better they seem to like it! Check it out to see what they have to say about my game, as well as two other mysteries of the xblig marketplace.
It’s great to see mainstream shows covering XBLIG, and I hope to see more in the future. Baby Maker Extreme might be having an “Extreme” new release soon for some new platforms… so stay tuned, especially if you like things that start with “i” before their names.
Also, in case you haven’t NOTICED the new game at the top of the site, I did release a game after Baby Maker Extreme. It’s called This is Hard, and has been available for multiple weeks now! If you like frustratingly difficult platforming games that are easy to get into, this is the game for you.
Yup, I had been working on Baby Maker Extreme in private, but now that it’s out in the wild, you should totally go try it. My goal with this was to make a fun, casual experience with some humorous aspects. Hope you enjoy it!
This is the last episode of Game Dev Diaries for a while. I’m now working on balance and testing which don’t really warrant daily episodes. I’ll probably come back near the release of the game for another episode. Anyway, hope you’ve enjoyed the trip through Mega Monster Madness’ development
In today’s episode, I talk about adding in the new sound effects. There are some other visual changes you can find it you look around, but primarily this episode is about sound. Now, if only I could find some good music…
